When I was growing up there was this campaign on t.v. to get kids outside. The accompanying slogan was something like “Verb. It’s what you do”. That’s kind of how I lead my life, I love doing everything: yoga, eating, snowboarding, surfing, dancing, traveling, volleyball, hiking, cooking, backpacking, singing, camping, climbing etc. I am all about people, compassion, and DOING…pretty much anything!

As you might guess, I’m not one for conventional jobs and earned my bachelor’s degree in Art Studies right here at Arizona State. After graduating, exploring California for a bit, and jumping around odd jobs (I’ve done everything from being a barista and running a yoga studio to janitorial services and security system sales), I came back to reconnect with my roots here in Arizona. Volleyball is a passion of mine- that’s how Shannon (our Director) and I met. We became friends years ago after meeting at a volleyball bar/restaurant and she offered me a position with her company years later after I’d moved home from California. I’ve been with this group of folks for just over a year now. We have an incredible and unique community in our office with lots of personality, passion, and most importantly, friendship; I couldn’t be more thankful to be a part of this experience.

Why am I here? What about Foster Hope draws me? These are great questions. Like I said, I fell into the opportunity because of Shannon, and it’s honestly grown to be more than I’d ever imagined. I love helping people, and am incredibly compelled by stories- the intricate journeys of individuals and the growth that happens along the way. My dad jokes with me and will say things like “Okay, well go have fun saving the world”. There are infinite opportunities to do so in our world, but this is where I am now and how I can make a difference today and I love it. It is a one of a kind chance, and I am so excited to help Foster Hope grow into the amazing organization we all dream it will soon be.
